Is Disney-MGM Studios a fun theme park?

My boyfriend and I are taking our first trip to Disney World in March. We are planning to go to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and the Studios. I've looked at the attractions at the parks, and the Studios just don't seem to have all that much to do (or least not as much as the other parks). We don't have any children travelling with us, so won't be going to anything like Playhouse Disney. Will we have enough to do for one day?

Thanks!

You know, my boyfriend and I (20-year-olds without children) go to Walt Disney World each summer, and out of the four Walt Disney World theme parks, the Disney-MGM Studios is our least favorite. I mean, it's a great a park, but you're absolutely right - it really doesn't have all that much to do. There's definitely not enough to keep you occupied for an entire day. We usually only go to the Disney Studios for a few hours. We go on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, the Great Movie Ride, then we go see the Indiana Jones show, and finally, the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show. Then we come back later in the evening to see Fantasmic! Six things worth seeing... that's not too much.

But we always go to Walt Disney World for 10+ days and go to all four of the theme parks. If you're only going to three of the Walt Disney World theme parks you may want to consider going to Disney's Animal Kingdom Park instead. There's a few more attractions, and I think the Park is just better than the Disney Studios overall. There's two awesome roller coasters, a bunch of other rides and shows, and Kilimanjaro Safaris is just amazing. You can get so close to so many gorgeous, exotic animals. I'd even suggest going to one of the water parks. Typhoon Lagoon is incredible! Or maybe you could get a Park Hopper ticket - spend the afternoon at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park and then go to the Disney Studios in the evening. I do LOVE the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show, and Fantasmic! at the Disney Studios, but I think Disney's Animal Kingdom Park has a better selection - plus the animals.

Hope I could help! Have a great time!

I didn't really like it. At all. None of the rides were fun, That's just my opinion. Spend more time in Epcot, it's more fun. Don't bother going to MGM, it's a waste of time. There is a wider selection of rides in Epcot and there aren't as many little kids running around. If you want to have a good trip, skip MGM.
yes Disney mgm is a theme park also, you will probably enjoy that park the best,at least I did.

Make sure you make it to "Pleasure Island",it is a theme park also with restaruants, gift shops, and pubs, from around the world. They also feature live entertainment site at night. I saw Pat Benatar up close ,almost where I could touch her.

There is also another theme park in Disneyworld where it is surrounds a lake where there are countries of the world which is another fantastic park, both of these I mentioned are not really bombarded by kids,it is geared to more of an adult escape, where you could visit gift shops, and museums and restaurants from all over the world. I think that is in Epcot, which is also a good theme park to enjoy.

There are theme rides where you could go into where you actually see the special effects of movie making which I thought were pretty interesting at Disney-MGM.

I liked the Tower of Doom, where you enter a castle where there are real life actors and actresses ,which the whole building looks like an old hotel that is haunted and you take an elevator up to the 13th floor ,and the special effects are great where the elebvator stops on certain floors where you see ghostly figures walking around just like in the movies.

When you get to the 13th floor ..the elevator drops!!! ..It was great.

You exit onto a floor where they have Twilight Zone gift shop,t shirts,movies..etc.

There are tram rails that take you to different parks,so getting there is no big deal.
My daughter works for Disney World and I have been there numerous times and MGM is one of the best parks for adults and there is alot to do there, it is not as kid oriented as the other parks and you should go to Disneys Animal Kingdom cause that too is wonderful. You won't be able to see any kingdom in one day cause there is too many people and way to much to do. Have fun and go to Pleasure Island at nite it is so much fun.
yeah! IT is. You could probbly do the park in a half day. It is ture that there is not much to so. They have a show called fantasmic. Its VERY VERY COOL! What we did was have dinner at MGM, you can get priority seating if you eat at certin restaunts there at MGM. We had dinner, there %26amp; saw the fantasmic show.
I always enjoy MGM. It isn't as big as EPCOT and Magic Kingdom, so there aren't as many rides. Most people are able to do MGM in a half-day, as well as Animal Kingdom. Personally, I like spending the whole day there.

MGM has more rides for adults than for kids, it really is a lot fun. Rides like Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller Coaster are a lot of fun.

If you get a hopper pass you can always go into MGM, if you don't like it, you can go to another park. But, if you won't have the ability to do that, then I would just look over the rides, if they don't really seem like something you would enjoy then I would go to another park.

Personally, I love it, but I like all the parks. EPCOT is my favorite, especially when you are traveling without kids, but they are all special in their own way ;-)
Fantasmic is an amazing show and should not be missed under any circumstance.
MGM is a good park, but mostly shows and stuff. If you want a traditional theme park for rides then you'll finish this park in half a day.
No - the studios can be seen in less than a day. They do have a few great attractions and entertainment:

Rock N' Roller

Tower of Terror

Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular

Beauty %26amp; the Beast Live Stage Show

Fantasmic!

But overall, it is my least favorite park. I worked there too lol.

I recommend you visit Animal Kingdom instead of the studios. They have a ton to do there, especially for folks without kids. Or if you have park hoppers, stop by the studios, but only see the attractions I listed and then move on somewhere else.

Have a great time!
This is my least favorite Disney park, just not as much to do. But if you get the park hopper option on your ticket (WAY WORTH IT) then you could go for a morning and ride Rockin Rollercoaster and Tower and catch the Beauty and the Beast stage show. I have heard good things about the stunt show but have not seen it personally. There are also great character photo oppourtunities at this park that you have trouble with any where else so if you are into that you might consider stopping by. You can get Lilo and Stitch, Monsters, Mickey, Pooh, Buzz and Woody and many more that are hard to find including Star Wars characters. Here is a link about it. http://allearsnet.com/tp/mgm/m_char.htm

But if you decide not to get park hopper (please reconsider it is nice because if it is raining or crowded in one park you can go to another, or you can leave a park when you are finished seeing what you care about and go to another. It maximizes your Disney time) then I would probably skip MGM and go to Animal Kingdom. This is one of my favorite parks. It is only open until 5 though so you could make reservations for dinner at one of the resorts. Chef Mickeys is a great character dinner.

You could also spend a second day at EPCOT or MK they are big parks and may take more than one day to see fully especially if you are going during Spring Break. VERY CROWDED with looooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnggg lines.

Here is a link to my favorite information site for Disney World. There are menus for every restaurant in the entire complex with the prices as well as reviews. It tells about a lot of the rides and has great tips. Be sure to check out the Anitas Answer section she answers questions people send in and there is a lot of good info there.

Hope some of this helps. HAVE FUN!
